Cynthia Rosen-Malter recently moved to Long Island from Dorset, Vt.

A graduate of the Boston Museum School, in the 1970’s, Cynthia Rosen founded and directed Art to People, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation designed to establish art programs in various correctional, educational, and mental health institutions in the greater Boston area.  After directing the program for several years and receiving a traveling fellowship to study light under the midnight Norwegian sun for the further pursuit of her painting, Cindy handed the business reins over to a new director, and moved to NYC, to work as a professional artist.  Her paintings were shown in several galleries and museums around the country, being sold to private as well as corporate collections.

Taking a hiatus from painting, Cynthia moved to Vermont to raise her six children, finding creative outlets through set design and painting for the local theatre company as well as providing fine and decorative arts expertise to numerous creative fundraising initiatives. Throughout her years in the Northshire, Cindy served on the boards of several cultural, religious and educational institutions as well as taught privately.  After obtaining her MA in Ed. and teaching certification through Goddard College, she proceeded to teach in public and private schools in southwestern Vermont.

Cindy moved to Port Jefferson with her husband, Ira, a radiologist for Catholic Health Services and is presently working primarily as a muralist.
