Although creativity and talent are, many times, gifts over which we have little control, the development of these precious qualities comes only through work, patience and experience. Elaine Lipitz has these natural abilities and, as only a very few, has explored her potentials and searched for the rewards of knowledge and the responsibility of understanding through these disciplines. She received her B.A. from Pratt Institute and took her Masters at Columbia University. Recently, she attended classes at the Brooklyn Museum of Modern Art and the Art in America School where she studied under Jerry Okimoto.

Ms. Lipitz taught art at Jamaica High School in Queens in addition to spending most of her time exploring the realms of The Forbidden, The discomforting and the overwhelming Reality of Dreams. We can trace the beginning of this exploration to illustrations she has done for children’s books.

Although these illustrations appeal to a child’s fancy, they stimulate and excite the imagination of the adult world in a much larger sense. She is able to touch that something which makes us all sense that corner of childhood that is buried in our busied adult minds.

Branching out in more directions, Elaine Lipitz has also done Fashion Illustrating, Jewelry Designing and Interior Decorating. She has explored many facets of the art world in order to find from each the clue it has to give about the omniscience of art–about its awesome significance in our modern multi-faceted world.

Mating this creativity with technical skills and professional execution, as Elaine Lipitz is able to do, further adds to our understanding. We are able to see the awe-inspiring truths hidden in our caged fantasy worlds: the reality of our wildest dreams.
