Lyn Boland received her Bachelor of Science in Television and Film from Northwestern University and went on to work in programming for WBBM television in Chicago and CBS television in New York City. She also worked on television commercials for Venet Advertising and in non-broadcast television for MPCS. Ms Boland spent many years in educational television, creating and heading up television studios for the Cuyahoga County Board of  Mental Retardation, who also published her book, Discovering the World of Language, and for New York Medical College.

Ms. Boland graduated with honors from St. John's Law School and began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Nassau County. She went into private practice in 1984 and in 1988 opened her own law firm, Boland and Brooks, now Boland and Cline, specializing in Family Law. Ms. Boland and her partner also created Domestic Partnerships, New York.

Lyn Boland is most proud of her two daughters, one of whom recently graduated from Yale and one who is a producer for the Discovery Network.

An avid film buff, Ms. Boland chairs the Village Cinema Film Series for the Arts Council.
